Live-Ticker: Im Augenblick läuft der TechCrunch Hackathon in New York. Programmierer hatten 24 Stunden Zeit, um Projekte zu entwerfen und zu programmieren. Heute haben sie jeweils 60 Sekunden, um ihre Projekte live auf der Bühne vorzuführen. Hier die interessantesten Hacks. Eine Warnung vorweg: Die New Yorker Projekte sind bisher weitaus weniger originell ist als beim Hackathon in San Francisco.

StreamPic: Livestreaming Slideshow auf Basis von Hashtags. Slideshow wird ständig ergänzt um Fotos, die Leute mit einem Hashtag hochgeladen haben. Für alle Arten von Veranstaltungen.

Cheapest ATM: App auf dem iPhone findet den Geldautomaten mit der billigsten Transaktionsgebühr in der Umgebung heraus.

Tipsters: Stellt einfache Fragen an Freunde bei Facebook: Wo sollte ich in den New York wohnen, wo gibt es die besten Pizza? Sucht Posts zu entsprechenden Themen von Facebook-Freunden heraus,

Kickli.st: Eine Mailingliste für Veranstaltungen und Parties mit eingebauter Bestrafung, wenn man Leute einlädt, die sich daneben benehmen.

Pickle: Man stellt jeweils zwei Fotos ein und lädt Freunde ein, darüber abzustimmen, was ihnen besser gefällt: Coke oder Pepsi, ein Film oder ein anderer?

YouMixer: Erstellt eine Musik-Playlist für Partys über Facebook. Jeder kann Musik für die Liste vorschlagen, die dann gespielt wird.

PollDance: Smartphone-App für Spontan-Umfragen in der unmittelbaren Umgebung erlaubt. Setzt auf Facebook auf.

Wiz Café: Stellt Video-Verbindung zu einem Experten her, der etwas von dem Produkt versteht, das man kaufen möchten, zum Beispiel Kameras. Man schiebt Produktfotos auf einem virtuellen Schreibtisch hin- und her. Alles im interaktiven Video-Dialog mit dem Berater. Von einem deutschen Team gemacht. Ziemlich gut.

Friend Ptz: Schafft ein Belohnungssystem für Leute, die einem einen Gefallen tun. Schafft eine Währung für Gefallen.

Bucket List: Sucht beste Reiseziele heraus durch Abstimmungen in sozialen Netzwerken. Bindet Reiseberichte der Freunde ein.

IKEA iPhone: iPhone App für Ikea: Man scannt im Laden den Code des Produkts ein und bekommt eine virtuelle, animierte 3D-Aufbauanleitung. Sieht auf den ersten Blick professionell aus. Echte Lücke für jeden, der mal bei Ikea eingekauft hat. Viel Beifall.

Sportify: Plattform, mit der Sportfans Live-Berichte von Spielen schreiben können. Textblöcke, die durch einfache Klicks aufgerufen werden.

Tweet 2 Tracks: Sucht Fotos bei Twitter heraus, die Leute unter Hashtags bei Twitter hochgeladen haben, und spielt sie als Endlos-Bildergalerie ab. Galerien werden Tracks genannt.

Rapunzl: Metasuche über Sonderpreisangebote bei verschiedenen Plattformen. Ermöglicht lokale Suche und stellt sie in Karten dar.

Message to the Future: Witzige Idee – man schickt sich selber eine Videonachricht in die Zukunft, bevor man etwas wirklich Gewagtes oder Verrücktes unternimmt. Damit kann man sich hinterher darin erinnern, was einen getrieben hat.

Poachbase: Bewertet die Aussichten von Startups nach Leuten, die dort arbeiten. Stellt Listen von deren bisherigen Flops auf. Je mehr Flops, desto geringer die Chancen des Erfolgs. Gutes Design. Viel Beifall.

Beat Sherpa: Man zeichnet mit der Hand die Stimmungskurve einer Party auf den Schirm. Programm sucht die passende Musik dazu aus.

Thingscription: Optimiert die vielen Abos für 1000 Dinge, die man abonnieren kann: von Socken zu Eiscreme. Unausgereift.

Nameless: Hilft beim Suchen nach Namen für Projekte oder Webseiten. Schlägt Synonyme, Reime, verwandte Worte vor.

Planit: Noch ein Tool zum Planen von Treffen mit Freunden.

Sentimental Diary: Semantische Analyse eigener Tagebucheintragungen. Durchsucht eigene Einträge in sozialen Netzwerken und zeichnet als Grafik die eigene Stimmungskurve auf.

Fistpump: Gute Idee für eine App: DJ spielt Song – mögen die Leute ihn? Man schüttelt sein Handy zu den Beats. An der Intensität sieht der DJ auf einer Anzeige live, ob das Publikum mitgeht.

Single Slide: Erstellt automatisch Präsentation aus Musik oder Restaurants, die man mag.

WhisperYou: Einige der wenigen Frauen, die hier präsentieren. Ermöglicht einfaches Teilen von Sprachnachrichten. Man spricht eine Nachricht auf einen Server. Die Nachricht wird per Telefonanruf zu einem vorbestimmten Zeitpunkt zugestellt.

Replyo: App, mit der man Fotos per Videonachricht kommentieren kann.

(Zwischenbemerkung: Viele Logos der Projekte sind im verspielt-eleganten Typografie-Stil von Pinterest gestaltet. Pinterest hat damit einen starken Trend gesetzt.)

Vip Appeal: Vergleicht Ereignisse miteinander und berät so beim Ausgehen. Wie Klout, aber für Veranstaltungen

SMS Mark Cuban: Man schickt Projektvorschläge für Apps und bekommt sofort eine Bewertung per SMS zurück. Total unausgereift.

HapStream: Wieder eine Frau! Aop, die Live-Fotos und Fotos von Clubs auf dem Smartphone darstellt. So kann man auf einen Blick sehen, ob man jetzt besser woanders sein sollte.

Alfred Flik: Extension für das lokale Suchprogramm Alfred. Schickt Nachricht mit den Suchergebnissen.

Sehr gutes, spannendes Memory-Spiel für das iPhone. Viel Beifall. (Namen leider nicht gesehen.)

FantasyBuzzer: Schickt Nachrichten über SMS oder soziale Netzwerke, wenn Lieblingsspieler verletzt sind. Wertet Daten von Yahoo Sports, ESPN und CBS aus. Soll ein Paid-Angebot werden. 1 Dollar pro Monat.

Spoonhub: Rezeptseite fürs Selberkochen mit Abstimmung über soziale Netzwerke. Witzige Zusatzfunktion: Wenn man aufgibt, bekommt man Empfehlung für ein passendes Restaurant in der Nähe.

CityVibes: App für Musik-Empfehlungen von Freunden. Echtzeit und Geo-located. Man muss nicht mit den Leuten befreundet sein, sondern die App wertet aus, was in der Stadt, in der man gerade ist, am meisten gehört wird.

Straphangers: Aggregator für Informationen (Baustellen, Fehlermeldungen) aus dem New Yorker öffentlichen Nahverkehr. Inklusive Fotos und Videos von Fahrgästen.

Jamsters: Funktioniert wie Turntable, aber nicht mit konservierter Musik, sondern mit virtuellen Instrumenten, also selbstgemacher Musik.. Man stellt eine Band im Netz zusammen. Sucht sich ein Instrument aus und startet virtuelle Jamsession. Charmante Idee.

Stalkbook: Ermöglicht virtuelles Stalking bei Facebook, um Ex-Freundinnen zu beobachten: Puh!

(Zwischenbemerkung: Während beim Hackathon San Francisco ausnahmslose alle 60-Sekunden-Präsentationen von den Laptops der Präsentatoren sofort auf den großen Leinwänden waren, bekommt es hier jedes dritte Team nicht hin. Manche helfen sich damit, indem sie ihren Laptop oder das iPhone unter eine Kamera halten. Die Kalifornier haben die Technik besser im Griff.)

WhatsUpWith: Man schiebt ein Foto mit Frage ins Netz und bekommt Antworten. Unklar, was diese App im Unterschied zu anderen will.

(Zwischenbemerkung: Mehr als die Hälfte der Projekte beschäftigt sich mit Fragen: Was soll ich heute Abend machen? Wo gibt es die beste Pizza? Wo läuft gerade die beste Party? Was finden meine Freunde? Also Hilfen bei der Freizeitgestaltung. Viele kleine Zusatzanwendungen für bestehende Plattformen. Viel API-Anprogrammierung. Aber wenige grundsätzlich neue Ideen.)

Covengers: Hilft beim Suchen von Programmierern für Projekte. Und von Projekten für Programmierer. Setzt auf Facebook auf.

Whats Around: Karte auf dem Smartphone, die zeigt, was man heute Abend machen kann. Eine Art Aroundme für Partys und Veranstaltungen.

nuMail: Organisiert Email-Inbox nach Stichworten und Themen. Stellt Ergebnisse in Spalten zusammen. Innovativer Ansatz. Ziemlich guter Ansatz. Da steckt schon eine Menge Überlegung drin.

YourQ: Stellt Fragen an Facebook-Freunde. Sucht diejenigen Freunde heraus, die sich für das jeweilige Thema interessieren. Funktioniert per Analyse der Posts der Freunde. Ermöglicht dann direkte Frage an die bestqualifizierten Freunde.

Context: Second-Screen-App, die neben Fernsehsendung läuft. Sucht per semantischer Analyse die besten Tweets heraus. Stellt daraus ein logisch in sich geschlossenes Narrativ zusammen. Interessanter Ansatz, aber noch rudimentär.

WatchAt: Japanisches Team. Hilft beim Jagen von Promis. Man lädt Fotos von Spottings hoch.

Ad-City: Hilft beim Veröffentlichen relevanter Werbung auf der eigenen Website. Man baut Werbung sehr leicht durch Einbauen von Javascript ein.

Kover: Analysiert Persönlichkeit des Users durch semantische Analyse der eigenen Facebook-Posts und Likes. Erstellt daraus Buchempfehlungen. Gute Idee.

Methinks: Noch ein Logo in Pinterest:Typografie! Funktioniert auch so ähnlich, aber mit Nachrichten, Büchern, Videos.
